We'll have a quick intro to the history of pottery and quickly get your hands in the clay for hand building or throwing on the potter's wheel -whichever you choose. I'll guide you in either practice. By the end of the class, you'll have a great introduction to the potter's life and you can choose your favorite piece and a glaze. I’ll finish your pottery and then ship to you (if you live in the continental US. If not, we’ll calculate shipping charges and add it to your final cost).

This experience is an introduction to working with clay. You will have the opportunity to choose one of your favorite piece to be glazed by me and shipped to you. Extra for shipping outside US.

I've made and taught pottery for over 25 years. I studied ceramics and have a BA in the arts. I've taught high school pottery, and now make tableware, teach, and host workshops in my studio in lovely Pownal, Vermont.

I had a great time learning pottery from Jackie! She was great at explaining the process and then provided a lot of encouragement and guidance while I did it myself. I finished a small bowl and feel accomplished that I “did it myself”! I had a great time and I will recommend this to friends in the future! Thanks Jackie!

A MUST DO! This experience is worth every penny. My partner and I went here for his birthday and had the best time! Jackie was clearly passionate and knowledge about pottery. She gave us an introduction to wheel-throwing by showing us first, then she coached us as we gave it a try! She was so attentive and kind as she helped. We loved it so much we are considering going again.
Side note: If you can, book your stay at her air b n b as well. It was breathtaking and I wish we could’ve stayed there!

When I initially told my hubby what I had scheduled for us on this trip, he made his usual face saying, "What did you get me into now?!" So I was very surprised that he actually did a better piece of pottery than I, and kept expressing how much he enjoyed it on the long ride home. I'm so happy I got to share this experience with both him and Jackie - we couldn't have done it without her guidance and patience. We enjoyed learning the process of the different clays and the new words, too. I can't imagine a better or more qualified instructor than Jackie. If I lived closer, I'd definitely be her student. It was so much fun to create our own 'masterpiece!'

We loved, my wife and I, our pottery session with Jackie. She is passionate about clay and share her passion wonderfully well. We felt like home in her studio and it was so delightful to build pots and bowls by our own under her attentive and kind direction. Highly recommend!
