While meeting strict health standards I will take you on a 5 hours journey to the best local fresh markets in Santiago, Mercado Central and La Vega Central using a 4x4 vehicle. I will show you our amazing variety of seafood, we will buy the fresh fish we will cook later in my apartment in El Golf neighborhood, where you will have a fantastic view of the Andes mountains, Manquehue hill and of Los Leones Golf Club.
Your will also learn how to prepare a good Ceviche, try the best reserve wine brands to taste a main dish called Charquican, native from southern Mapuche community. There will also be Tapas and local Cheeses and Sparkling wine. Local sweets will also be served.
I´ve got also lots of tips to share with you on restaurants and gourmet circuits all over Chile in the event you are visiting other cities.
During the ride back from the markets to my apartment you will explore barrios (neigbhborhoods) Lastarria, the facinating and bohemian barrio Bellavista and end up in the El Golf district where my apartment is located, then we will start our premium full gastronomic experience. All transportation are covered from/to customer location.

Maybe a small bagpack, bottled water and medicines if this is the case for a 5 hours tour.
Also an umbrella in winter time or ask me for that specific item

I worked 13 years for an airline´s communications company mainly in the field of service operations, after that I had a restaurant for 10 years rated top 20th best restaurant in Santiago for 8 consecutive years by TripAdvisor.Lovely experience.

We will walk the Central Market and Vega Central Market, then we will tour the borders of the Mapocho river and learn of important gastronomic areas like: Lastarria, Bellavista e Isidora Goyenechea, where a number of the best restaurants are located. We then go to my apartment in El Golf district where we will cook together, have appetizer, fine wines and beverages with a spectacular view of Manquehue hill and the Andes mountain.

We had the most amazing day with Chef Tatan(Cristian). Our day started with a tour of the Central Market as he explained the history of the area and some of the architectural aspects of the beautiful old buildings we passed. We walked into the Market and toured the different stalls which provided a wide array of fresh fish, vegetables and meat. After we completed our shopping trip we headed to his home. Along the way, he told us about his city(Santiago). When we arrived at his home, he served us appetizers and we talked a bit before being ushered into the kitchen to put on aprons and start our cooking lesson. When we were done, we had another appetizer of scallops bought from the market, ceviche, a stew and dessert. When we got back to the hotel, my husband settled into a lovely food coma. I highly recommend this tour. We feel we have made a new friend in Cristian and appreciate the time he spent with us.

Amazing, amazing, just amazing! Would highly suggest. My mother and I had a fantastic time. Cristian is so knowledgeable and funny and a wow chef. His home is also so cozy and cute. He is very welcoming. We went to several markets and it was great!!

My wife and I had a lovely day with Cristian. It was great learning about his culinary experience and he added great contact to our walk through the markets. His apartment is absolutely wonderful and it was a joy chatting with him while we are yummy food in the porch.

Our day with Cristian (Tatan) was more than we expected... from when he picked us up... the extraordinary variety at the markets and his knowledge of products, local culture and history... followed by an initiation tour of the highlights of Santiago.
Arriving at his beautiful home and view with glimpses on the Andes - spectacular.
