體驗簡介

Meet the guests at Keisei Sakura station and briefly explained the history of Sakura city and the visiting sites. Firstly, we stop at the guardian shrine of the Sakura clan, Makata Jinja. It houses over 800 years old sacred tree and deities of harvest and sun. Next site is the highlight of the experience, three old samurai houses. Comparing three different samurai class houses, we can think of severe and simple samurai way of life. We also stop by the authentic samurai street, a dark narrow slope and bamboo forest. We also pass by several old store houses registered as important cultural properties. Lastly, we have a cup of tea at a local city museum cafe and enjoy samurai talk, Q&A session.

I was born in Sapporo (Hokkaido), grew up in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), immigrated to Pretoria (South Africa), then returned to my family home in Chiba Prefecture. Hopped from job to job until the unprecedented Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, then I realized that our lives on this wonderful planet are precious and decided to focus my energy on what I love, and become a licensed tour guide in 2014.

Since then, sharing the charms of Japanese nature, beauty and characteristics of my familiar places in Japan has become my mission. I believe that travelling enriches people’s mind and brings is the best peace-keeping activity. I also hope that you will learn some hints for the better future, which can be applied to your daily life.

Kayuki was very knowledgeable of Japanese history! She took us to the Samurai Village, showed us a katana exhibit and even took us out for Japanese sweet treats and tea after. I would 100% recommend this tour for anyone interested in learning about Samurai and meeting someone wonderful in the process.

Sakura is a beautiful, quiet city which makes it perfect for a day trip to unwind after a long day in the crowded parts of Tokyo. Kayuki gave us a tour of some former samurai residences, the local shrine, and a tea house in the city. It was very relaxing and informative. Great for anyone interested in history, and there were great photo ops too!

Was a very fun little tour, informational and interesting! I loved seeing the Samurai houses and walking through the gorgeous place that was Sakura Town! The tea ceremony afterwards was very cool and the tea served was delicious. Kayuki was a very friendly guide and very easy to talk with and ask questions to.

We didn't really have a great idea of what to expect, but this experience was delightful. The tour happens in the town of Sakura, it's a small, quiet town with a deep history and was a nice break from Tokyo. Kayuki, the guide spoke great English and did a great job of explaining the history. It's a walking tour, but the tea at the end of the tour was a great treat. Even if the tea was the only part, it was worth going. The tea shop owner basically performed a tea ceremony. Two hours isn't really enough time to see all the cool places in Sakura. Worth it.
