I'll meet you at Punggol MRT control station, and we'll go to 'The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf' at Waterway Point shopping mall (next to the station). Once we're settled down and comfortable, we'll start with our class! All materials for this class will be covered.
You'll receive:
1) 1 Tombow dual brush pen
2) Practicing materials for lettering
3) 1 fine acid free quality paper for your final project
On top of that, you'll be bringing home a unique hand lettering artwork (that you had completed), and a new skill to enjoy!
Invite and bring your friends along to join in the class! It's fun to share an experience together!

Punggol is the young heartland of Singapore. It is located in the North East, the last station of the purple North East Line (NEL). I like my area for it's natural landscapes, convenience, and trendiness! Shopping can be done (after) at Waterway Point shopping mall where we will be conducting our hand lettering class. There is a cinema with an IMAX theatre, international fashion brands like H&M and Cotton on, and a diverse selection of food.

It was my first time with hand lettering. Stella is very patient and encouraging. Really learnt a lot from this experience on the basics of hand lettering, blending and you really have to practice. I was able to complete my project decently for a newbie with guidance from Stella. I highly recommend this experience to tourists and locals if you are interested in hand lettering.

I had been trying to master brush lettering through Youtube videos without much success, but just a couple hours under Stella's coaching was all it took to get much better at this craft! She would literally take you by the hand to help you master the correct pressure, which is fundamental to brush lettering. After learning to write every letter in the alphabet, I must say seeing my own final artwork at the end of the session was truly satisfying! Stella was truly passionate about her art, but more than just focussing on imparting a skill, she takes great joy in helping participants create their own artwork, and encourages each of us to develop our own unique style. She's also very forthcoming with artist tips and tricks, and very generous with her time! I truly enjoyed both learning and chatting with such a genuine and awesome host.

As someone living in Singapore, it was good to spend time in a neighbourhood I rarely visit plus learn about an art form I would never pick up on my own. Stella's a patient, personable guide with an interesting backstory – so in addition to learning how to do hand-lettering, I got to know an interesting local who's passionate about what she does. Shows there's more to Singapore and Singaporeans than meet the eye.
