It's LOUD. it's POWERFUL. It's SUPER FUN. Let's enjoy the authentic art of Japanse Taiko Drumming. No experience or Japanese required! In the lesson, you'll learn the basics of Taiko drumming, its origin and culture. Plus, you'll get to see an up-close personal performance from a veteran drumming player. We will meet at Taiko Lab Aoyama studio which is the biggest Taiko drumming studio in Japan. First we'll do body-warm up and learn how to hold sticks and how to make your stance. Then you'll learn different rhythms and drumming techniques. Finally you will complete one composition by the end of the lesson and ready to perform a final presentation! You wear Happi (Japanese festival coat) like a real drumming player and we'll film your final presentation to keep your memory forever. *If any of the following schedule doesn't work for you, feel free to message me and we can make a schedule up.*
My name is Kenji Ishida. I'm Japanese drumming player, passionate skier and ultimate beer lover. I've been playing Japanese drum for 10 years and taught over 1,000 people from more than 10 different countries in the past. As a professional player, I played on stages for both domestic and international events as well. Anyone who want to know what Japanese drum is, come join my lesson and let's drumming together!
