We meet guests in the quaint town of Mill City, OR to begin our journey. You will find us in white vans with blue boats on the trailer ready to go! Park your car in Mill City and hop in our van to ride up to our put in at Packsaddle Park. NOTE: You can book for 1 or 2 but the trip will be cancelled 24 hours prior if there are not at least 3 guests going.
Prior to launch we teach important information about paddling and river safety. Paddling is a team sport and crucial for river navigation. Each guest will learn to properly paddle before trying out their new skills on the river. This experience is unique, as we provide our guests with the know how, safety equipment & our expert guiding skills to ensure a FUN time!
This section of the North Santiam River is only accessible on rafts or kayaks with safety gear, and cannot be accessed any other way as it runs through private properties and heavy forest.
We and our guests paddle through a trio of class III rapids and beautiful scenery. Spencer's Hole, Class III+, requires punching through a hole by running center-right into the rapid. Just downstream comes an island and a sweeping, left-to-right drop off- Carnivore, Class III. The final rapid is Mill City Falls (Class III), a large drop before Mill City Bridge.
We end our 2 hour river experience at the large swimming hole at Mill City Falls Park.

We are an Oregon licensed business/ outfitter. Safety is our highest priority.
We are sometimes asked if we take non swimmers and the answer is YES , we do! A

In 2006 Chris took up a new hobby: Whitewater rafting. Being on the river and sharing the river experience with others is our passion! Your master guide, Chris, has over 10 years of commercial white water rafting experience with over 1000 trips guided. We are a licensed outfitter in the state of Oregon. We are also first aid/CPR certified and Chris received his swift water safety certification from Rescue International Whitewater Training.

Calvin and Chris were amazing!! Calvin was a beyond experienced and was a great guide! My husband and I had soo much fun and were so delightfully surprised that Chris was along the rapids off to the side taking photos for us to have.
