In this activity, that lasts from 2 to 3 hours, we will taste a sample of the cheeses of Serra da Estrela. At dusk, at Casa Cerro da Correia, right in front of the Zêzere Glacier Valley, we will taste a special selection of sheep and goat cheeses from Serra da Estrela. We’ve chosen for this occasion some wines of the region, influenced by meteorology, geology and water similar to those that conditioned the milk used in the production of Serra da Estrela cheese.

We have a huge passion for Serra da Estrela. Our deep knowledge of the community we live in allows us to reveal the stories of this territory. Inês is a journalist (specialized in gastronomy and wine, among other subjects) and Miguel (a technology specialist that loves agriculture) as lived in this mountain since his childhood. It will be a privilege to show you the secrets and taste of one of the best cheeses in the world.

The activity will take place in the patio of Casa Cerro da Correia, enjoying a breathtaking view over Manteigas and the Zêzere River Glacier Valley.
If the weather conditions do not allow, it will be transferred to the living room of the house.

Great experience! Great local knowledge and enjoyed the nice touch of cheese and fruit spread made by the neighbor and seeing her photo. Unfortunately the weather was cold and rainy, so we had to do the tasting indoors, but it was lovely all the same. Very flexible to fit our schedule and needs bringing our small children along.

A prova com a Inês e o Miguel foi maravilhosa. Para além de alterarem a hora marcada de forma a acomodar a nossa disponibilidade, foram extremamente simpáticos, transmitiram-nos conhecimentos únicos e montaram uma experiência de que nos vamos lembrar sempre. Recomendo muito!

La cata de quesos de la Serra da Estrela es mucho más que una simple degustación. Inês y Miguel te adentran en el verdadero proceso de producción del queso autóctono de la zona con un detalle y una pasión propia de personas que aman y defienden su cultura y sus tradiciones locales. Una experiencia para repetir sin duda. Los quesos están buenísimos y los maridamos con vino, mermeladas de todo tipo, frutos secos... una verdadera delicia. Y Miguel e Inês fueron unos auténticos anfitriones siempre atentos y preocupados porque la experiencia fuera agradable y fructífera. Recomiendo la actividad por su gran valor en pro de la recuperación y visibilización de procesos y tradiciones que se encuentran en vías de extinción.

Inês and Miguel were amazing hosts - they were flexible with the time of the experience and very knowledgeable about cheese and also the local area. Not only did we get to taste local cheeses and hear tales about the local shepherds and cheesemakers, but also taste homemade compotes, olives and apples from their back yard and local breads, nuts, wine and fresh water.
Speaking with them was like visiting friends whilst we sat inside with a warm fire and I would highly recommend this experience to anyone interested in cheese and authentic Portuguese experiences.
