It will be a walking tour through the street nightlife of Rio through the “Little Africa”, “Gamboa / Saúde” and towards the bohemian district of Lapa, passing through some interesting places along the city center, full of things that happen from happy hour and throughout the night. PLEASE NOTICE: Monday tours start earlier, at 5pm, and end earlier, at 9pm. Friday tours start at 7pm and end at 11pm. The tours can be a bit different every time since the street performances are free and vary depending on the month of the year.

We will experience the nightlife in downtown Rio as a true Carioca going through music, history, art, lifestyle, architecture and Brazilian way of life.

From Cinelândia, we will walk along the main avenues around Mauá square, Candelaria, MAR Museum and the Tomorrow Museum. From there, we will check some local bars for a bit of “samba de roda”, street food and drinks. After that we walk through the streets where we will have a bit of history and local architecture. Highly recommend this tour! Paulo was super friendly and chilled. He brought us to parts of Rio I would not have gone to on my own. It was a Friday night and there seemed to be a street party on every corner! We visited several samba bars and ate delicious food in a local restaurant. It was one of the best tours I’ve ever taken. It felt like a friend was showing us around all the best spots of Rio while sharing interesting information. It also lasted longer than it was supposed to as Paulo didn’t rush us anywhere, it was great! A very special experience, the highlight of my time in Rio!

Paulo was a terrific guide, and took us to an amazing number of uniquely Rio spots.
And once we got there, he led us right into the thick of the action, where we stood right in front of the samba musicians, and were spirited away with the rest of the crowd.
