You can wear a beautiful Japanese traditional kimono and make delicious sushi in this activity.
I live in a small seaside town called Oiso in Kanagawa prefecture, easily accessible from Yokohama or Odawara by train. I will pick you up at Ninomiya station on the JR Tokaido line and drive you back there afterwards. It takes only 5 minutes from Ninomiya station to my house by car. When you arrive at my house, I will dress you in kimono (Japanese traditional clothing). I have various props, such as samurai swords, elegant fans and colorful lacquered umbrellas, to transform the ladies into geisha and the gentlemen into samurai! You can take a lot of photos of yourself in the front garden and inside the house. I will show you some good poses. We will then move on to cooking. We will make sushi rice and prepare some ingredients including fresh sashimi for the decoration of sushi. I will show you how to decorate the sushi and you will make your own sushi plate. I will also show you how to make proper miso soup. Afterwards, we will eat it together. Putting on kimono and taking photos takes about one hour; cooking and dining takes about two and a half hours

My house is in a nice residential area in a seaside town called Oiso near Odawara in Kanagawa prefecture. If you are in Hakone or Odawara, it's easy to come. I will pick you up at Ninomiya station on JR Tokaido line. There is a front garden with a lot of flowers in my house for taking photos. The kitchen is big enough for 8 people to make sushi.

Manami is a warm and kind soul. She has this motherly aura that made us feel welcomed and loved. She was so eager to dress Iris up beautifully and comfortably like she was her own daughter, and took some great photos that would last a lifetime. We wore beautiful kimonos and I even had a samurai katana to pose and play with.
Manami was very patient in guiding us making our very own temarizushi. There were lots of laugh and fun in the classroom!

This was such a fun experience! One of our absolute favorite parts of our trip. Manami is so kind and welcoming we really enjoyed our time with her. When we arrived, she had samurai robes for the kids and my husband ready and then let me pick from several beautiful kimono. After we were dressed, she took lots of really nice photos of us. Then she taught us about the different kinds of sushi and was so patient with the kids as she taught them how to make miso soup, sushi rice and Japanese omelet. She taught us how to make several different types of sushi. At the end we had a really wonderful dinner of the soup and sushi we made. I cannot recommend her experience highly enough. Thank you!

Manami was an amazing host and she leads a fantastically fun experience. Coordinating the meet-up was perfectly smooth, and she is such a gracious host. She made sushi-making easy and interesting, and it was a filling meal! She also leads a delightful photo shoot for you in the kimono outfits. We made a detour from Hakone on the way back to Tokyo to stop over here and the train ride was convenient and easy. It was great to visit a small town on the seaside as a glimpse at areas off the main tourist track. What a great experience!

Manami was more than we expected from a host she was so lovely, genuine and funny and not to mention her english was excellent. She took her time with us and we never felt rushed or pressured.

The sushi making was my favorite part because she can tell when I was nervous and encouraged me to get out of my comfort zone. She also encouraged me to eat to my hearts content and was very open to feedback.
