THE WINE STORY - This year we will focus on wine - simple, homemade, totally unpretentious wine. My family is making this sweet nectar for 10 generations and to us, wine tells the story of love, family and life. In a short walk, I will show you my favourite places of Dol, a small island village where we live. While visiting my house, a 400-year-old castle, we will taste the wine and everything connected with it - rakija, kvasina and prošek and have a small workshop where we will learn how to do "unforgivable" - mix wine with water.

I am on island BRAČ, not HVAR!
Both islands have village named Dol. My Dol is on island Brač. Hvar and Brač are not well connected, so it is very important to check where are you before booking!

My name is Ivana and, together with my family, I run agrotourism in village Dol. Throughout the year we grow vines, olives and vegetables, and in summer we open our door for guests. Our house is a 400-year-old castle and since I was a kid I do tours to many curious tourists. I love my village and my Island and that is why extended tour by showing the whole village.

Our story is a story about Kaštil Gospodnetić in beautiful village Dol. It is an old caste we turned into a home 300 years ago. We will walk through the house, visit different areas, from Renaissance, Baroque to Art Nouveau, talk about the history and taste wine.

Ivana was a fantastic host and knowledgeable guide to the village of Dol and Croatian wine making. Her personal touches and story telling made us feel immediately welcome. The walk through Dol was leisurely and full of history. Our time at her family’s home including learning about and tasting her family’s wine was very enjoyable! Highly recommend this experience!

Ivana’s tour was amazing! It was a unique opportunity to learn about the village where she grew up and she shared unique insights about life on the island in the past and today. We also got to try her family’s homemade wine and other delicious local foods. The tour also starts at her family’s restaurant so if you have time to eat there after we’d recommend it!

I loved everything about the tour. It was filled with personal experiences, active participation, and tasting as well as a wonderful atmosphere created by the extraordinary location and history. Ivana gave us a first hand insight on her family history as well as the history of Dol itself. 10 out of 10.
