A 3-4 hour urban birding experience. There are approximately 250 different species of birds within 1 km of our home.
We walk across the road into the Johannesburg Botanical Gardens, where we complete a walk around the Gardens where, dependent on the season, we hope to find at lease 50 different species, then we head up to the Melville Koppies where we should pick up another 10 species and have amazing views of Johannesburg.
This is a unique urban experience.
Other things to note
We recommend that you use sunblock for the walk, wear a hat and comfortable shoes.

The Johannesburg Botanical Gardens are across the road from our Airbnb. Here you are able to walk, run, cycle, canoe, sail.
Not many people realise how diverse our urban bird life is and having indigenous bush, water and grass lands makes for an interesting birding experience.
Whilst over 250 different species have been identified in this area, my personal tally is 125 different species.
