This private tour is priced for a minimum group size of one traveller. If your group has more than two persons, please kindly book the "Group Price".
Join us for a walk through the heart and stomach of Thessaloniki to find out why food is the best way to understand Greek culture. Bring along your appetite and discover Thessaloniki’s rich culinary heritage.
During our 4-hour walking tour, you will taste the best staples of the Greek cuisine. This experience is designed to give you an overall view of the city while tasting your way through downtown and going away from touristic traps as we visit small-scale family-owned businesses. It's a combination of 'must-see' and 'must-have' while walking around the historical part of the city.
Kickstart the tour with a cup of Greek coffee just like the locals do, try koulouri and bougatsa (our city's specialist), top-quality olives, cheeses, and cold cuts, freshly baked pastries, and Greek-style tapas (meze) with Tsipouro our local alcohol.
The food is more than enough to skip lunch!

We will discover Thessaloniki through its distinct local flavours, visit hundred years old open-air markets in the historical heart of the city, visit family-owned businesses and sample the best local products straight from their farms, sip on Greek coffee and learn about its origins, and end our experience at a locals favourite tavern enjoying local tapas (mezedes) accompanied by our strong spirit "Tsipouro".

This tour is really magnificent! Kyriakos knows so much about the city’s history and tells it in a really interesting way. The different food stops where perfect. You can taste so many different delicious things at wonderful places.
Last but not least: I was several times in Thessaloniki before but through Kyriakos I discovered so many new wonderful and beautiful places I would never have found.

We like to learn about a culture through the food and meeting the people. We got all of this and so much more. Kyriakos was very knowledgeable about the local history, took us to some great spots to try local food, and was easy to talk and connect with. Got learn and hear stories about him and his family and the locals.

Kyriakos hosted my family and me very generously both knowledge and enthusiasm and with the food we taste .
He took us to places we wouldn't reach by ourselves, and gave us so much historical and cultural knowledge that we wouldn't have.
We were four and only guests in these experience, so it was private and intimate.
Our doughter has celiac, and Kyriakos tried his best to satisfy her, although it's not so easy here.
At last Kyriakos send us a list of his favourite places to eat enjoy live greek music and have coffee.
So thank you very much Kyriakos for the lovely experience.

Kyriakos made us feel very welcome and really took a lot of time and care to create a very memorable experience. It was easy to chat with him and he answered all our questions very well. We now have a good understanding of the history and food of the city, but also about what it’s like to live here today. Don’t eat before you go on the tour as you get to try so much - it’s all delicious!

Kyriakos has a great personality and a deep knowledge of the history of Thessaloniki and the food of the city. He was patient with our onslaught of questions and showed us a part of the city that we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise. His food selections were very tasty. He took extra time with us to give more information of the history of the different areas of the city.
