Leave the streets of Baltimore behind as we set sail on the Chesapeake Bay. We'll meet at Young's Boat Yard and quickly hop on the boat. After going over safety basics, we'll sail out of the harbor and explore the Bay.
The Chesapeake Bay offers a peaceful respite. If breezes are blowing, we can move quickly and feel the power of the wind. If the sea is quieter, we'll have a slower and more leisurely pace. Whatever the weather, time spent on the water is utterly relaxing. Nature lovers watch the active sea birds–ospreys, cormorants, terns, shoals of fish and rays. The sunsets are spectacular on the water.
To be safe with COVID, we will all be wearing masks as we set out. However once we are sailing on the open water (20 minutes into the trip) we can remove masks and move around the boat. There's plenty of space for social distancing and lots of wind.

If there's light rain, we can still have a great trip - sailing is all about being one with the weather! Heavy rain would require rescheduling.

I LOVE sailing and I enjoy sharing with guests the peace, tranquility (and sometimes energy!) of the wind and water. Sunset in Baltimore is magical and on the water it's truly incredible. I have been sailing since I was a kid and have traveled all over the globe. I lived on a boat for a year trading coconuts on the East African coast. My career has been largely related to natural resource conservation and I have a love and passion for the sea and the animals that inhabit it. I also have hospitality experience including leading safari tours. In short, I love making the natural world accessible to everyone.

We leave from Jones Creek near North Point State Park and sail straight into the open Chesapeake, viewing wildlife and the picturesque landscape. This trip makes for some awesome photos, so bring your camera! I love to teach sailing if you're interested in trying your hand.

We thoroughly enjoyed our sailing experience with Rob. We originally booked for a weekday sunset sail on our honeymoon but the date we picked ended being bad weather once we got out in the water. He immediately suggested we come back out in a few days for more time. We had great conversation and he offered a great selection of local craft beer. He is clearly an expert in this field and passionate about sharing that with others. I would highly recommend this to anyone considering it.

We had a wonderful time sailing with Rob — and I enjoyed the opportunity to steer for a short while too! Rob is a great host, is obviously passionate about sailing, and reserved some excellent weather and a beautiful sunset for our journey into the harbor. Great beer selection too. What a fantastic evening! It was so peaceful out on the wide harbor, with few other boats but good company and great beer. Rob taught me the ropes and I got to take part in the sailing. Conversation was delightful and the whole process smooth and accommodating. I really enjoyed the time.
