"Private KENDO Class” is for an individual or a small private group who has desire to experience the basics of the Japanese traditional martial art, KENDO (Literally means "Way of Sword"). This class includes a short lecture on BUSHIDO (Principle of Samurai) and a personal testimony of the instructor whose great grandfather was a last Samurai. The instructor will teach everything in English. Q&A is always welcomed during the workshop. His wife, Tomoko, who also has a rich Kendo experience will assist ladies in any necessary way. It is a very safe activity but exciting enough to meet your adventurous expectation!

Please make sure to arrive and meet us 30 minutes before the starting hour at the main entrance gate of Kyotoshi Budo Center property.

Hi, my name is Tomoyoshi. I am your instructor in this workshop. I am the fourth descendant of one of the last Samurais, Yoshishige Hayashi who lived 150 years ago and served the Hikone clan in today's Shiga prefecture. I grew up with a rich heritage of BUSHIDO tradition and KENDO practice. It is my honor to introduce to you this part of Japanese culture. I trust your experience in this workshop will be one of the most exciting, inspiring and memorable ones during your time in Japan. Looking forward to meeting you!
