In our downtown studio, you will take pleasure in designing and crafting as well as sharing this experience with others.
What can you make?
During the workshop, you will design and create a durable leather bag like of which you will never see anywhere else. You can pick from 4 type of bags:
- Backpack
- Shoulder Bag
- Bucket Bag
- Clutch Bag
What will we do?
At the beginning of the course, we will offer you a huge kit of different leather materials in a range of colors, textures, and stiffnesses and our range of options for design. We'll introduce you to the different tools and techniques to select from for the creation process. Next, we'll teach you the necessary cutting and assembling techniques, so that the entire process from design to final product is all yours. Our professional expertise and use of the latest technology guarantee a top quality long-lasting item. You can participate without having any particular special skills.
What are the results?
You will create the perfect souvenir from Budapest, which not only includes an experience of a lifetime and a top-quality leather accessory, but also a new point of view on the connection between fashion and sustainability.

Don't be shy—even if you are a newbie. In our studio, we love introducing you to the art of leather, as well as being creative and finding solutions for everything.

My name is Anna Roza, I am a leather-designer and co-founder of the Mittersisters Design Experience Studio. I love sharing my passion for leather and for empowering people with diverse backgrounds, cultures, and skills. We will be waiting for you at the coolest design studio apartment based in Astoria, in the heart of Budapest. Our sunny workshop provides all the necessary tools and machinery needed for leatherworking.
Wow! If I could give it 6 stars, I would! Such a unique, creative experience - I'm sad there aren't more reviews here raving about it. Anna Roza, the host, wasn't kidding when she said you can design and make your own bag from scratch. I was cutting and glueing and basically part of every step of the process.
She was incredibly patient and friendly - she walked me through the entire process, allowing me to make the decision on every aspect, but also providing expert design guidance when I started considering some pretty weird design choices.... It was like a fun day with a best friend who happened to be a leather bag expert. Even when I made mistakes she was cheerful and patient with helping me correct them. I'm shocked I walked with such a beautiful piece given how clumsy I usually am with arts and crafts. (I'm also actually impressed with the quality of the materials provided - extremely sturdy and looks beautiful.)
If you are even remotely interested in the process of making a bag and/or want a bag no one else in the world has, don't hesitate to sign up! She also has another shorter workshop if you don't want to dedicate a full day. Either way, a must if you are in Budapest.

This is a very special opportunity to learn about sustainability in the leather industry and really understand what goes into producing a leather bag.
Anna Roza is so personable and very passionate about her craft. The first thing she will tell you is her story and what drives her to share her passion through this class!
You will learn about the different leather design techniques, cutting practices, assembly, and most importantly - you may learn a new perspective on appreciation of leather and natural products (which I certainly came away with).
I was lucky enough to have this experience one-on-one with Anna Roza. She was so welcoming and sweet and helped me understand all the steps and guide me along. I don’t think I’d ever have the chance to do something like this again so I’m so happy I did it!
This is a very special opportunity to learn about sustainability in the leather industry and really understand what goes into producing a leather bag.

I flew to Budapest specifically for this experience after stumbling upon the MitterSister's website and plan to return in the coming months to learn more. Without a doubt, studying leather techniques and creating my own bag with such a passionate and professional leather designer was one of the best travel experiences I've ever had. Anna Roza has such passion for creating a unique brand that is built around sustainability, but also uniqueness. It's rare to find someone who works with such integrity (and patience given my millions of questions and eagerness to learn) to ensure that students leave with the bag they've designed or imagined. But this workshop is more than just an experience - hanging out with Anna Roza in her studio, chatting about life in Budapest, and where to dine - provided cultural immersion. And her studio is located in a trendy neighbourhood so coffee before or lunch breaks are sure to be in a hip and cool cafe that matches the designer's personality. And you'll leave with a bag that truly is one of a kind (and a much cooler souvenir than you'll find in most shops in Budapest!)
