體驗簡介
** This is an original experience of Foodies, the most awarded food tours in Colombia. **
Gabriel García Marquez was a foodie, his books are a tribute to the Colombian Caribbean Cuisine and we want you taste it while we remember delicious passages of "Love in the Time of Cholera", "One Hundred Years of Solitude", "Of Love and Other Demons", among other works.
Our journey to the magical realism starts at the iconic Clock Tower, a key place in García Marquez geography. During the morning, we'll discover the food and scenarios that inspired his books walking 9 of his must-see places in Cartagena. We'll taste 8 stops with some of the snacks or drinks that Gabo served his characters meanwhile we tell you the history behind our traditional cuisine; We'll stroll by emblematic spots in the old town like Plaza de los Coches, Plaza de la Aduana, Plaza de Bolivar and Plaza de la Proclamación. You'll be able to meet and greet the cooks who keep our culinary treasure to take home their secrets and recipes.
This experience is a blend of mouth-watering cuisine and wonderful local people, get ready to share your stories and be part of the conversation.
*. Please note the walk mixes stops of salt and sweet along the route

My name is María and I'm the leader of Foodies, we are a local community of food lovers proud to share the flavors and the stories of our cuisine. Reading García Márquez's books we discovered he was a foodie like us so we encourage us to research about the presence of the Colombian traditional food in his works. Thanks to this, we won a prize of Ministry of Culture of Colombia, we have been invited to Madrid Fusion too and appeared in CNN, Food & Travel magazine and other important media to speak about his literary menu. Now we are happy to share with you the flavors of magical realism.

The journey to the flavors of magical realism starts at the iconic Clock Tower, selected by BBC as one of the 5 world's most beautiful clock towers. Their gates grants access to the most charming part of Cartagena – a walled section of 18th-century mansions and lively squares. While we eat, we'll stop in some García Marquez’s preferred places in the historic center.

Very much enjoyed this tour with Andrea. She gave us a lot of background knowledge and we enjoyed the food and company. There are definitely some dishes that we wouldn’t have tried without going on this tour.
Highly recommend getting the tree tomato ice cream!

Will Salazar was my guide for the tour. He was awesome. What I liked most was his ability to convey history, culture, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez through food in an engaging way. Moving through “la ciudad amurallada” while also taking in weddings and dancing in the streets was a blast.

Wow! Our guide, Melissa was awesome! With a background in journalism and as a chef, a passion for history and a family connection to Gabriel Garcia Marquez, she was such a knowledgeable and warm ambassador for Cartagena. Although we have been in Cartagena for 3 weeks already, we learned so much on this tour- food, literature, cultures and history. We thought we would go out for a late lunch afterwards, but the delicious snacks and drinks we enjoyed along the way were substantial enough to leave us too full to do that! Our fellow travelers were also great company. Highly recommend this experience!
