Each participant gets the chance to meet me and the rest of the group over coffee and homemade biscuits and briefly introduce him/herself. I will give a few tips and information about the method of search. We then head for the fields around the house for a couple of hours, make sure you have sturdy trainers for outside and a pair of inside shoes, a wind-jacket, a small umbrella, comfortable layers of clothes for all weather compatible with the season and a smartphone for taking photos. I will provide for each of the participants, scissors, plastic bags for the plants, a basket or big shopping bag, an apron for the inside cooking activity. I will take you to scout the area for different kind of edible plants which we will collect and talk about. All this during our walk in beautiful hills landscape with great views. Once back to the house everybody will be involved in cleaning and washing the harvested plants and we will decide what to cook with them. A glass of wine and a tasty snack will sustain us through the cooking until we'll be able to set the big kitchen table and sit down for several delicious courses and more wine or some homemade elder-flower cordial.
I am a former export manager who traded the board room for the chopping board 3 years ago and never looked back. Left the city for the beautiful hills south of Bologna and gradually widened the knowledge of wild edible plants, that I'd picked up from my grandmother and mother. Attended a couple of courses with a respected Swiss tutor and started to host courses for the local Slow Food Convivium. Of course the best part of this activity is getting to taste the dishes made with the harvest and savouring the knowlege of mastering a skill handed down for countless generations.

The indoor activity will take place is our rebuild farmhouse. It dates back from the 18th century and commands breathtaking 360 degrees views. if the time allows it, there is a 12th century abbey, with small, beautiful cloister, down the road which is not open to the public unless one knows the owner... Also up the hill along one of the paths we will likely take, there is the house of an artist and scenographer with workshop attached.
