This short walking tour starts on the historical Walter Sisulu Square, where South Africa's Freedom Charter was adopted and signed. We'll explore the bustling market and have a traditional snack. Get out your camera as we walk the colourful streets of historic Kliptown with all it's street art from all over the world. We end the afternoon with a traditional lunch (bring cash for drinks) at a local's art-filled home.
I am a well known travel blogger in South Africa, and Johannesburg tour operator. I was born in Jozi, and has called the city home again for the past 18 years, owning several infamous bars and restaurants while also organising tours and events in the city. I have a deep love and passion for the city. Through my bars, I've met many musicians hailing from Soweto, getting to know the area through their eyes. I've also been taking tourists there for the past 10 years, but I prefer to share the real Soweto, as my friends and I know it, with you. I can't wait to share my passion for Jozi!
This tour focuses on Kliptown, the first suburb of Soweto. We'll explore the pillars of the Freedom Charter, the little tower, the local market and the streets of Kliptown, ending at a well known community leader's home for lunch.

Soweto is safe and the locals know me, you'll be well looked after. It can get hot in summer. Remember the sun screen and hats.
