Hello, I am Yuhua Bi, or just call me Bi. I am a hutong NERD (hutong, narrow lanes of Beijing), Mom of two kids, and founder of the Beijing Way Experience. I grew up in Beijing, studied in the U.S., and worked for European companies. My life totally changed after I gave birth to my two girls. I had a valuable opportunity to take time off from my busy life. While exploring hutongs in Beijing, I became fascinated by so many interesting things and amazing people! As a girl who grew up in a former Prince Mansion (although I am not a Princess :) I feel very attached to Ancient Chinese Architecture and have explored many hidden gems in Beijing. They are like my old house. Many "old houses" are disappearing in Beijing, together with hutongs. I want to share with you its beauty, the way of life and the heartwarming people in the hutongs!
A variety of authentic Beijing's traditional snacks at a most local restaurant. My whole family often dined in this…
Uncle Zhu is a good friend of mine and his family's courtyard house is the best-preserved traditonal courtyard house in Dongsi area. We will also visit Grandpa Li's private home, or sometimes, we may consider to switch to another old photographer friend Uncle Wang's home, in the same hutong area, he has taken beautiful photos of Beijing's gates of traditional courtyard houses since 1980.
A pure love for Ancient Chinese Architecture, an eye for beatuy and a relaxing mood!
It is totally fine if you just want to dissemble a few pieces of the dougong model or just watch and touch it!
