Take a break from digital distraction and come paint into the wild. We will spend time observing textures and details of the Cape’s beautiful fynbos and indigenous flowers, trees, birds and surrounds. Then we will spend time splashing watercolour pigments onto paper to express your imaginative observations in a different way to take home with you. South Africa’s Cape floral kingdom is one of the richest areas in the world for plant diversity. Kirstenbosch Gardens is a UNESCO world heritage site and has 528 hectares of fynbos and forest for you to explore and paint. NOTE: If you would prefer a day which is not on the calendar please send me a message!
I am an artist, designer, teacher and therapist, with many years of experience, now living in and being constantly astounded by the vibrant natural, visual beauty of the Mother City and surrounds. Let me share the way I see my city with you in an unusual way. Come, have a splash at expressing the featheriness of fynbos, the textures of trees and the simple pointiness of proteas.
A light snack will be provided
Entrance ticket to Kirstenbosch, value R70 will be provided by me.
Watercolour paper to paint on and take home with you. A painting kit to use while in Kirstenbosch.
We will meet at Gate 2 entrance at Kirstenbosch Gardens. We will then walk deeper into this magnificent garden and you will be completely surprised by what you see, when you really look. I will take you to a base point and after a brief demo you can fan out and sit on the grass in the shade of spreading trees or on a bench with your painting kit.
