We’ll visit a typically Roman cheese shop and butcher and try different white and red wines from the Lazio region, learning the history behind what you are tasting. You’ll sample Roman specialities (such as suppli, baccala fritto and pizza al taglio), enjoy a Roman feast at a local trattoria and finish the evening with the best gelato the Eternal City has to offer!
I grew up in a household where food was everything. My family owned a small food oil business before opening a restaurant in Rome called Cucina Romana, and then New York called Basso 56. I studied at Gambero Rosso for 3 years and worked in Tuscany during the grape harvest which gave me a deep understanding of the complexities of, and the differences between, a variety of Italian wines, I have continued to work closely with well-known restaurants in Rome, such as La Carbonara, Spaghettari and the 5* Hotel Boscolo Exedra. Traditional Roman cooking has always been, and always will be, my passion.

The cheese shop and butcher are both family-run businesses, loved by locals for their high-quality Italian produce and authentic feel. Our pizza will come from a bakery established in 1870 which prides itself on its time-honoured methods, and the suppli are the best in town. The trattoria has been using traditional recipes since 1896 and the gelateria uses only the finest ingredients and fresh fruit.
