I teach a simple, completely hands-on pasta making experience (no machine involved) – exactly in the same way my grandmothers taught me. We will begin the experience by going to a local market (if the experience is run in the morning only, but if run in the evening you will find the produce in the kitchen already) and choosing our lovely produce and explain a bit of history, interesting facts and what its local and traditional in Portugal. Then head to our lovely kitchen flat when we will talk about pasta! You will each make your own portion of fresh pasta, roll it out by hand and shape it in one of the most delicious Southern Italian pasta dishes, yum! While waiting for the dough to rest and then dry, we’ll also make a couple simple sauces with the ingredients previously bought at the market, learning techniques that are easily applicable to anything you’re cooking at home, even when using a dried packed pasta. The ingredients we are going to use will be all fresh, carefully selected and as much local as possible. The condiments varies according to the season. Along the class you will taste some appetisers which we will be keeping going for the entire course of the class. All the food prepared will be eaten and enjoyed around a beautiful set dinner table. FAMILY FRIENDLY - For private classes, please let me know via messages.
Ciao, I’m a Sicilian foodie enthusiast and wine lover. I have been trained in Italy as a pasta maker “sfoglina” and created workshops, retreats and food events for the last four years. I love sharing the passion I have for real food and authenticity with others by cooking with the best quality ingredients, telling stories about the people behind the produce and then celebrating all together around a dinner table. I’ve travelled extensively and lived both in Italy and the UK so I've tasted pasta worldwide. You can find more about me as @iamalessandralauria on Instagram

Cozy and intimate atmosphere
We will visit a local food market. In there you will find and see all the Portughese best produces and ingredients. Once we have got all the ingredients we need for the pasta sauce, we will head to the kitchen studio flat - an hidden gem in the heart of Lisbon, where will be cooking, learning about pasta and feed ourselves with our own creations. We'll enjoy the food all together at a banquet style dinner table.
