Having met in a vast and beautiful courtyard, we will proceed to the large kitchen where the cooking lesson will commence. We will begin by preparing some delicious salsas, followed by an authentic and traditional Mexican mole, tasty enmoladas, and mexican rice. I will educate you on the ingredients, tell you about the culinary and nutritional values, and how to prepare and cook each part of the meal. We are always vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free friendly if that is an interest. I will teach you the history and cultural importance of the Mole and how it used to be the “Food of the Emperors”, reserved only for the upper class of the Mayan and Aztec society. During the lesson you will enjoy a pure cacao chocolate drink, and be enticed to explore your environment: the cozy den with its fireplace, library and piano; and the surrounding courtyard with its organic gardens and gorgeous landscapes. Having prepared the delicious meal, we will sit down and dine, enjoying the meal and engaging in wonderful conversation. With the meal we will have a glass of delicious Mexican wine and some refreshing water. All while surrounded by a beautiful and tranquil environment.
I will provide all of the ingredients to prepare the entire meal. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free optional by request.
I will provide water, a traditional chocolate drink made from pure cacao as well as a glass of delicious wine.
I will provide the perfect cooking, dining and social environment as well as all the necessary cooking equipment.
I was born in Mexico City where my passion for cooking began as a child when I began baking desserts. I studied the culinary arts at the Intercontinental University earning diplomas in Mexican, Italian and French cooking. I further have a diploma in food and decoration art, and have completed training in wine appreciation. I have worked as a professional chef in fine restaurants throughout Mexico, in private homes as well as for special events. I have traveled extensively in Mexico and Europe, exploring and tasting ethnic foods and continuing my gastronomic education in different styles of cooking.
The experience will take place at a beautiful private property in Centro, San Miguel de Allende. We will be using a large, professional kitchen for the cooking lesson, and will dine either outside in the gorgeous courtyard or inside in the dining room. It will be a cozy and comfortable environment, perfect for both the cooking class as well as for socialization and food discussion.
This experience is perfect for couples, even if one of you is more interested in eating than cooking. Please let me know in advance if you wish your experience to be vegetarian, vegan or gluten-free. Alternate class venues of equal quality may apply depending on availability.
