My goal is to take you to explore beyond the obvious places and show you my favourite spots and hidden secrets from my own personal point of view. If you just want to check highlight and walk in a hurry, do yourself a favour and stop reading - book another guide. Oh, You didn’t stop? You’re still here?! Ok. No worries. Let’s continue shall we? You'll discover genuine and traditional places outside the touristic tracks: Historical shops and old buildings, breathtaking views, awkward spots with interesting stories, the trends as well as Lisbon's layback lifestyle. In this journey, we'll be having traditional snacks & the water mouthing egg custard aka “natas” - We have to! This is a tour to learn about the city, the stories and traditions - It’s a cultural tour, not a touristic walking tour. I wanted to make sure you understand why you are important to the city and why some business depend on your visit. Some of the places I would take you are my own favourites and are endangered due to gentrification. By the end of the day you'll fell part of the city and the city will be waiting to be discovered! This tour was created to help the local economy and to promote local authentic products made in Portugal.
Olá! I’m Nuno, born and raised in Lisbon. I’ve studied Tourism and started working in local Tourism Offices back in 2002. Nowadays besides working as a tour guide at Get Lost Go Local, I’m also a driver at We Hate Tourism Tours and Unofficial Ambassadors. You can find me playing mandolin in a quiet viewpoint or writing cool articles about Lisbon for Spotted by Locals. I love discovering the genuine spots in the city, avoiding the touristic traps and overtourism gentrified places. I’m also a photographer with a passion for cooking I would love to show you the “real" Lisbon, the city you wont find in your guidebook - My Lisbon. Please bring comfortable shoes (Lisbon is very hilly!). The sun can be burning (in August expect around 40c / nearly 100f). Bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a bottle of water.
