Whether you're new to the specialty coffee scene or a coffee snob, a Melbournian or a traveller exploring Melbourne city -- this experience has got something to offer! So join me, as I run you through some history and context behind Melbourne's coffee craze, explore Melbourne laneways, and a tip on how to truly experience the Melbourne specialty coffee scene. Coffee tastings: We will cover 3 cafes (loved by locals!) serving the finest coffees in the CBD. Our first coffee tasting will be ~40 mins into the tour, where I will briefly guide you through coffee appreciation, and flavour profiles. After our first coffee tasting, hopefully, with the coffee knowledge you've gained, you'll be able to put it to good use as we explore other coffee shops in the city's laneways! * I will provide each guest up to 3 cups of specialty coffees Please bring extra cash in hand should you want more coffees or snacks. * Small, intimate group tour (max 4 people, as cafes we are visiting have limited sittings). If it is booking for a larger group of people please message privately me so that it can be arranged.
I am a coffee enthusiast, lived in Melbourne for over 10 years and appreciate a good cup of coffee. I’ve also spent ~2 years in Europe where I knew a few specialty coffee baristas and brewers whom I've learnt extensive coffee knowledge up my sleeves. During my time in Europe I realised Melbourne’s coffee culture is truly unique. In fact, some claim that Melbourne is the city that has started the global specialty coffee scene. So join me on a journey to understand why Melbournians love their coffees, what is specialty coffee all about (spoiler: it is not artisanal at all!), the controversial driver of coffee drinking, and marvel at the remnants from the era of Marvellous Melbourne in this fine city -- all over some great hand-picked coffees the city has to offer!
