This is a special tour for visitors to San MIguel de Allende. You'll hear stories and be taught history you can't hear anywhere else. I guarantee the accuracy of the info. Upon confirmation, guests receive information regarding the tour and direct contact information. You will be picked up at the meeting point by a modern, multi-passenger vehicle and transported, by a qualified driver, to the welcome center of the archaeological site. I, will be in contact with you and waiting at the site with water. We will begin with a short history tour of the museum and to set expectations with a fluid question and answer style. We then board a bus together and ride 10 minutes towards the site. We get off the vehicle and walk the ancient ceremonial path to the site as I explain the significance of various items along the way and build suspense for the main attractions. We enter the pyramid site, see active archaeological excavation and restoration work, ascend the pyramid and head back down to the drop-off point to take the vehicle back to the welcome site and then have a longer Q&A session. The group then boards the transport vehicle and heads back to the initial pickup point in town
Archaeologist Albert Coffee, a Graduate of Louisiana State University and federally licensed tour guide, was invited to help excavate the Cañada de la Virgen in 2004. This is a special tour, only offered a few days a week which includes years of documented legends, wisdom and memories of the elders of the ranch communities on and around the historic location. Albert has taken over 6000 people on tours since the site opened to the public in 2011. It's a “must do while you’re here…!” experience that can’t be missed. Don’t get left behind.
All entrance tickets to the site are included
