We’ll be taking the morning cargo train at 3:30 AM or the Express train at 8:45 AM. If we are taking the morning cargo train, then for the next four hours, we’ll be experiencing the way cargo is being unloaded, and loaded at each station, the scenic view of mountains with the sunrise, and we’ll be having our journey while sitting on the footboard, which will truly be an exclusive experience. Trust me you’ll feel like flying over the mountains. Then we'll be stepping out of the train at a station called Watawala, which is situated in a small, beautiful village at around 7 AM. We will have a relaxing time while discovering the neighborhood, have some snacks, enjoy the breeze, and return back to Kandy by the 9:30 train
I’m a traveler, who has experienced the upcountry cargo train trip for more than fifteen times for past four years. Through my experience, I have studied everything about the trip, attractions we pass, history, and the local lifestyle of the people. As I’m hosting this experience in the same time I’m writing a book regarding the trip, I’m sure I’ll be able to guide, and share my knowledge about world’s one of most heralded train trips in a way you have never experienced before.
