You will be welcomed to the day as you are picked up from your start location of either Paihia I-site at 9am or Russell Wharf at 9:30am and get to know each other as we drive up the scenic coastline to start the kayaking. From here we will kayak out to and stop at 2 different islands, keeping our eye open for any wildlife along the way, such as blue penguins, dolphins and orca. On our first island stop we will pass cliffs and caves to the beach where we will go for a walk to take in the breathtaking views of the area and may even spot some native bird life. We will then kayak to our second island stop where we will prepare your picnic lunch for you as you enjoy another walk to a great viewpoint. Finishing lunch you have the option for a swim or snorkel or can take the opportunity to just relax in the sun on a quiet beach before we start our paddle back returning between 4-4:30pm.
After travelling to many countries such as Iceland, Canada and South America as a raft and kayak guide. Sam the guide retuned back to his roots in New Zealand where I met him and now co-own a kayak company in the Bay of Islands. Known for the 144 islands dotted around the bay, we get to kayak in our beautiful backyard....can we really call this work??
