I'm a big fan of Old West since 2005; from the beginning it always amazed me that there’s a great diversity in streets & buildings on such a very small surface. That’s why I will take you on a walking tour to show you the fantastic variety in this neighborhood. You will discover the hidden gems and you'll be surprised that all be found on such a short walking distance. What to expect? We’ll pass by several historical buildings that had been renovated and gained a new purpose, like the WG-terrain (former hospital), Lab111 (former anatomical laboratorium) and a former tramdepot. Well 'go from a church to a mosque, from a busy shopping street to a quiet street with ‘village’ vibe next to a local market. We’ll end the walk at my favorite bar where we can share what impressed us the most!
My name is Willem, 43 years, Dutch, born & raised in a small Dutch village called Beesd, big fan of Amsterdam since 1998, working in tourism. I believe you will enjoy more if you discover the hidden gems & the ‘off the beaten track’ in Amsterdam and the rest of the Netherlands. For this reason I have started a local platform called Mister Local, which enables you to go where the locals go!
