Located at Van Phuc Silk Village (one of the oldest handicraft villages in Viet Nam), Vun Art - a social enterprise, was founded to teach art and create employment opportunities for disadvantaged and disabled people. At Vun Art, silk scraps have been reused and transformed into unique artistic collage with Vietnamese traditional cultures. You are warmly welcomed to join us at fabric-scrap collage workshops! 1. Details: - Travel from the pick-up point around Old Quarter to Van Phuc Silk Village (30 mins) - Visit our place and take a look at our products and meet our trainees (5 minutes) - Fabric-scrap collage workshop (30-45 minutes) - Visit silk village and get to know more about village history, silk weaving process , , silk weaving house, Van Phuc temple and shrine (30 minutes) - Visit silk shops (optional) - Travel back to the pick-up point around Old Quarter (30 mins)
I am running a social enterprise in Hanoi with the aim to provide vocational training and job for disabled people and provide creative products with Vietnamese traditional values. I hope this experience will help spread Vietnamese traditional culture to all foreigners, especially Dong Ho folk woodcut painting; create sustainable jobs for disadvantaged people including disabled people; and reuse fabric materials (Van Phuc silk - the best known and most ancient silk village in Vietnam) to protect the environment.
