I will give a quick overview of certain details about the flow and answer questions before we start to settle down. You will begin the session seated, trying to quiet the mind by bringing the awareness on the body and breath. Once settled in, you will warm up with Sun Salutations. Let's start to break a sweat! You will then be staying in different yoga poses for 5 full breath cycles. You will be going through this 5 breath per pose flow in a creative sequence that is aimed to open up the whole body, especially the hips and back. It also aims to strengthen the abdominal muscles, legs and arms. To "reset" and keep the breath and movement in sync, you will be doing a vinyasa (one breath per pose) flow once in a while. You will practice keeping focused even as you slow down into deep seated stretches until you end in Savasana, the resting pose. You will have the opportunity to listen to your body, try to move and balance mindfully, aim for strong and steady breaths, relax and let go. By the end of your practice, I hope you'll feel light, energized and good about yourself. Be ready to openly receive and generously give out a lot of good energy during and even after practice.
Hi! I'm Katrina, 36 years old, a Management Economics graduate from Ateneo de Manila University, registered nurse in the Philippines and full time yoga teacher. I received my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification from Greenpath Yoga of Yoga Alliance on May 2009 in Boracay, Aklan, Philippines. I attended the Asian Yoga Conference in Hong Kong last June 2017. I have experience teaching professional and non professional athletes, mountaineers, the heavy built, scoliosis patients and couch potatoes, young and old. I have 15 years of practice, 10 years of teaching, lots of love to share!

Props - mats, towels, blocks, straps or belts, knee pads, yoga wheels. Not all props are needed but can be used .
We will be practicing in my home's family room, now converted into a yoga shala. When you enter the gate, you can park along the driveway close to the path walk. You will be greeted with a garden that leads to the lanai. You can sit, relax and take your shoes off here before entering the room. The props will be ready inside. There is a toilet and bathroom connected to the shala and a powder room across the lanai where guests can freshen up.
