After brief introductions every participant will be given a Polaroid camera loaded with film. Once a short demonstration is complete we will begin a walking tour of Malmö's historical and rapidly changing Western Harbour. Our first stop Sweden's tallest building, the Turning Torso! From views of the Copenhagen's skyline on the wooden-decked harbor waterfront, to the old submarine construction dock, participants will shoot instant photos of Malmö's fastest growing quarter. The walking part of the tour will end at STPLN, a photogenic co-working space inside an old slipway that was once used to launch ships after construction into the Oresund sea and beyond. At STPLN we will begin the second part of the experience: Polaroid emulsion lifting! Emulsion lifting is the process in which you separate Polaroids from their plastic frames and mount them on a variety of backgrounds, such as canvas, wood or glass. After a simple tutorial everyone will go to the workstation and process their photos from the day. Every participant leaves with their own original analogue artworks and a collection of unique postcards that will last longer than a photo from a phone!
I am a filmmaker and photographer with over 10 years experience on a variety of documentary, commercial, music & fashion projects.
