Our experiences include a brief introduction to us as a family, how we got started with Birds of Prey and why we decided to start a Bird of Prey business. We will then proceed to give a very general brief about owls, with the focus on our Native British species.. We will then introduce you to 4 owls - one at a time and talk about each one in depth. We will cover aspects of their specific species anatomy, physiology, characteristics, habitats, food, breeding etc. We keep it light and try to keep it interactive and fun too. We always include anecdotal snipits .... they all have individual personalities and quirks. We are happy for you to take photographs (no flash photography), and ask questions. We offer you an opportunity to hold the birds yourself..... however if anyone is anxious we completely understand and there is no pressure to handle the birds. Some people just like to see them. Although all ages are welcome to watch and listen, for insurance purposes we cannot allow under 5's to handle the birds. Our birds do not react well to dogs sadly and so we respectfully request that dogs be kept securely away from the area where the birds will be.
We, as a family (myself, wife Liz and daughter Amber), became interested in Birds of Prey about 9 years ago. We have gradually grown our collection of birds and to date have 8 owls, 3 hawks and a kestrel. Our business has developed from our hobby! We love our birds and enjoy sharing what we know about them with people. We want everyone else to have the opportunity to appreciate how very special they are both as individuals and as a species and to experience their grace and serenity in person. Our focus is on offering an up close and personal experience as well as a profusion of information covering physiology, character, habitats, diet, life cycle and more. We cater for individuals or families, all age groups and abilities.
We supply falconry gloves for you during this experience. There are hand washing facilities (cold water only)
We deliver our experiences in our Owlery. This is an indoor experience and so we are NOT weather dependant. Seating is provided, but please be aware that there is no heating. We can have access to toilet facilities but they are a short walk from the Owlery. Disabled visitors can park directly outside the Owlery (but please be aware that the floor surface inside the Owlery is loose stone).
最多可供8位年滿5歲的旅人參加。父母也可以陪同兩歲以下的幼兒參加。 Children are always welcome but must be accompanied by a paying adult. Please be mindful that we will be introducing you to live birds that can become distressed or unsettled if people are too loud or there is too…
你需要提供一張與你身份證明文件上的相片相符之相片。 以便Airbnb確認是次體驗的參加者。 你只需進行此步驟一次。
More details about us are available on New Quay Birds of Prey Wales web site. If you have any questions we would be happy to discuss them with you by email, text, phone or messenger Our Owlery is located at the Honey Farm, but we are not part of the Honey Farm business itself.
