I’ll take you on a walking tour of the best fashion thrift shops. We’ll be visiting the stores where Vivienne Westwood personally donates her designs, where I found a Vera Wang wedding dress and a ball gown from Jenny Packham (Kate Moss’s wedding dress designer), and where I scored my all time favourite Max Mara coat for just £25! I’ll help you find the best pieces to suit your taste, pick out the high end designers, and assist with converting dress/shoe sizes. After we’re done shopping we will stop for Prosecco at a gorgeous bar in a converted fire station- it’s quite something! Here we can admire our new purchases, congratulate ourselves on how much we’ve saved, and the great charities we’ve supported. Naturally the pickings will vary from day to day but I can guarantee these charity shops are in a league of their own.
Hi I’m Felicity, I caught the high fashion bargain bug from my mother, who would dress the little me in designer French clothing she found in charity shops in Knightsbridge. For all non-brits charity shops are what you may call thrift, goodwll, op, consignment shops. Basically a home for pre-loved clothes with all proceeds going to charitable causes. To feed this habit, I had to become a thrift expert just like her. Over the years I have scoured London's second hand charity shop scene, scoring true designer gems and refining my list of London’s most reliable hunting grounds. I have found upmarket gear for everything from gowns for movie premieres to weddings, work and all events in between. During the week you’ll find me working at a London advertising agency, and on weekends volunteering in my local charity shop.
A glass of Prosecco at the fabulous converted fire station bar!
We’ll meet at a South West London tube station and walk to London’s best location for second hand clothing. It’s a gorgeous upmarket neighbourhood, completely off the tourist path with a host of charity shops to choose from. I’ve handpicked the best ones for our tour, but I will provide you with a map of all the charity shops in the area should you wish to continue afterwards, which I fully encourage!
Clothes which are easy to change in and out of
We'll have a great day, i do this almost every weekend! There wont be too much walking, all the shops are in a 10 minute walking radius.
