This all day experience will last for approximately 7 hours. You will be picked up at 9am. Then, we will drive for about one hour (depending on traffic) to my friend's home in Kajiado. There we will be met by my friend and other Maasai ladies who will share stories about the Maasai culture, perform traditional dances and teach you bead making. During our time in Kajiado, you will have an opportunity to ask questions to become well acquainted with the culture and traditions. Afterwards, we will return to Nairobi for the conclusion of the tour.
I left my job as a social worker for the department of juvenile justice in NC to pursue my passion of helping underprivileged youths. That path lead me to Kenya in 2014. To generate income while abroad, I rely on my expertise as a certified Travel Consultant of 11 years In the past 5 years, I have developed many beautiful relationships. As a result, I have become one of the few outsiders welcomed in the Maasai community. That privilege allows my open access and my guests an up close and personal experience in the Maasai Community.
Light snacks will be provided
The workshop will be conducted outdoors at a rural home in Kajiado. The set up is quite comfortable. We use a picnic table for sitting and a huge umbrella to block the Kenyan sun.
Spend the day with the Maasai women
