Experience the life of a vintner in an exclusive after-hours visit to Buttonwood Grove Winery! Your evening will begin with a guided tasting of our award-winning wines paired with local cheese. We'll then head into our production building, where we'll provide a hands-on look at wine making in a small family-owned farm winery. Depending on the season, activities may include: blending trials, barrel tastings, blind tastings, creating tasting notes, testing wines in our lab, tastes of special Reserve wines, and even visits to the vineyards (weather permitting). Due to the agricultural nature of grape growing and wine making, specific activities will vary and will be representative of what's currently happening in our vineyards and wine production facility. We'll take a brief break for a light supper on our deck (house-made artisan sandwiches, meatless available) while we enjoy the panoramic view of Cayuga Lake. The final hour of the evening will be guided by our guests - what would YOU like to learn more about? What other areas would you like to explore? We'll be happy to answer all your questions or provide a more in-depth look at specific subjects - just let us know!
I have been the Marketing Director and member of the management team at Buttonwood Grove Winery for 5 years, with more than 10 years immersed in the Finger Lakes wine industry. As a lifelong native of this area, I'm very knowledgeable about the history of the Finger Lakes wine industry and local culture. My co-host, Jenna, is our cellar and wine-making assistant, with a vast knowledge of the wine-making process. She is also a Finger Lakes native, with 5 years of experience in the local industry. We are both very experienced with creating and discussing food and wine pairings, giving cellar and vineyard tours, and sharing our love of fine wine and the Finger Lakes area. The winemaker and/or winery owner may also be present at events, depending on their availability.
