Get ready to see the authentic side of Tokyo's cultural family home!
Join me on a workshop that will take you back in time to the 8th century for 2 hours.
Visit the cozy town of Tokyo, wear handmade kimono, play the traditional musical instruments, enjoy Japanese tea ceremony and taste sweets in Kimono!
I prepared the Special Autumn Music Program! It'a special price only now!
You can learn how to play two Japanese traditional and historical instruments, the 13-stringed ”KOTO” (Japanese Harp) and the three-stringed ”SANSHIN”(Japanese Guitar).
You’ll learn 2~3 songs, including the famous song “Sakura Sakura.”
By the end of our lesson, you will be able to play them by yourself.
You can also try my kimonos which my grandmother's handmade, so they’re very special and unique. We have kimonos not only for women, but also men and children.
And you can buy them for your souvenir. These kimonos are not mass produced.
Finally, I’ll teach you the proper way to make ”MATCHA” (Japanese green tea).
My mother is a master of the tea ceremony. The secret is transmitted from mother to daughter. You can enjoy traditional matcha tea and sweets while we talk about Japanese culture and history.
I'm very flexible with dates and time.
Please send me message for the availability!
Feel free to contact us;)
You’re more than welcome to join my experience with your family

I have been playing Koto (13 strings Japanese Harp) since I was 5 years old,and perform it at festivals and events.
I won an excellent prize in the Sanshin contest sponsored Okinawa Newspaper in 2013 and 2017. Only a few people can play both Koto and Sanshin, because they are very traditional and it's difficult to keep studying.
I have a license of Japanese music(koto and Sanshin) and love sharing the culture with visitors to Tokyo .
My husband and I traveled around the world from 2014-2016 as honeymoon.
We visited more than 50 countries, and could have a great cherish time with our international friends!
Now we decided to open our cozy home for visitors to Japan to share the love and hospitality that we received when we were traveling.
We are really looking forward to talking about the difference between Japan and your country.

Yuka was such a lovely host. Her home is in such a picturesque area, and in two hours, you learn how to wear a kimono, how to play basic techniques of both koto and sanshin, and how to make matcha. She is extremely kind, patient, and welcoming, and the quality of her instruments are a treat for any music lover. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and would recommend it to anyone.

We had a really great experience! Sitting down on the floor - playing, singing and just listening was calming, exciting and so much fun. I wanna do this again.
The host was extremely friendly and very good at explaining and encouraging how to play.
We did a short video of our experience

I had a great time with Yuka today. Yuka and her family are lovely and super friendly. I loved hearing about the stories of their travels and even getting to visit their lovely neighbourhood. And of course the music lessons were very special - Yuka is a very patient and eloquent teacher, I wish I had a Koto I could practice on after this :) all of this and you even get to try on a kimono and eat lots of lovely home made treats and matcha tea. I couldn’t recommend it more. Thank you!

My morning spent with Yuka was a very unique and memorable experience. As a host, she was extremely friendly and personable, and her home is cozy and inviting.
She taught me the history of the koto and the sanshin instruments and together we played several traditional folk songs. Her patient and encouraging instruction made the instruments a fun and simple to learn.
In the middle of the lesson we broke for a tea ceremony served with mochi and kokutou snacks.
Aside from the advertised experience, it was a pleasure to talk with Yuka and her husband Masato and learn about their lives, and they were as genuinely interested in learning about mine. They have an infant daughter as well who is adorable.
I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who either wants to meet new people, learn more about Japanese history and culture, or have a general interest in the musical arts.
