Japanese Calligraphy is called Shodo. It is an artistic writing of the Japanese words. You will write your favorite word and your name in Japanese with brush and ink. We will give you a small lecture on how to use calligraphy tools and how to write Japanese words with those tools. Your Calligraphy lesson will be in a traditional Japanese style room where you can enjoy a view of a Japanese garden. It is possible to get the finished Calligraphy at the same day. It must be a memorable souvenir for you!
Hi. I am Hisae. I run the guesthouse that provides Japanese cultural experience such as tea ceremony, Japanese calligraphy and Hand Painted Yuzen dyeing workshop for the tourists. I was born and bred in Nara. Both of my grandmothers were tea ceremony instructors and my mother is Japanese Calligraphy instructor. So I have a lot of experiences of tea ceremony and Japanese Calligraphy. I am Kimono-dresser as well.
