Join me on a bike trip to Karlštejn Castle, a 14th-century Gothic castle, just outside of Prague. On the way, we'll follow a route that Charles IV also used to get to his castle. You'll enjoy the picturesque Berounka river valley. The roughly 36 km trip was chosen to avoid roads and view the beautiful Bohemian Karst forests. We are going to meet on Parking lot Podolská just on the tram station "DVORCE". You can get there easy with tram no. 3, 17, 20 or 21 from the city center. After we we'll ride on mostly flat asphalt paths, as well as a few forest ones. Don't worry about being fit or experienced - the trip is suitable for everyone. Mid-way through, we can stop for some coffee or alcohol-free beer and you can take a dip in the river. At the end of our ride, you can attend a 1 hour castle tour (not included in my experience). After lunch at a local restaurant, we'll head back to Prague by train.
Other things to note
Check weather the day before our trip. Wear layers of clothing that are breathable, as well as sports shoes. If it rains, I'd recommend bringing a small bag for spare clothes (optional).

Karlštejn Castle is located outside the southwestern end of Prague. The asphalt route we'll ride runs along the Berounka River and through the villages of Černošice & Dobřichovice. If you want to experience the gorgeous Czech countryside and escape the pressures of the city, this tour is for you.
Lukáš ended up taking me to the Bohemian Paradise because the weather was too hot to cycle to the castle. He was a wonderful guide, so full of knowledge or Czech history. He showed me places I’d have never known existed if it weren’t for this tour. Highly recommend!

We had a splendid time with Lukas on this bike tour. We had a bit of a mishap in the early morning with the meeting point, but Lukas took it in his stride to link up with us where we were. The first half of the tour was along the river with picturesque views of the countryside. Lukas is a very experienced guide; he was well paced to ensure no one was left behind, gave clear advanced signals when turning, and was extremely keen in giving us historical backgrounds of the village. He was also exceedingly patient in waiting for us and showing us how to manage the gears on the bicycles. Finally, he took us on a tour at the Karlstejn Castle and shared with us a little on the history of Czechoslovakia.
Thank you Lukas for making this such a fabulous experience for us. I would recommend this tour for anyone who is looking for a bit of an adventure outside the bustling city of Prague.

My first airbnb experience and it was a really good one. Lukas had lits of things to share, from history about the places, nice places to visit etc. We rode through some really beautiful places along the river, the ride was not too tough the lovely scenery made it enjoyable.
