Manaakitanga is a Maori word that loosely translates to hospitality. Joanne offers hospitality that inspires a genuine care for all visitors who are made to feel very welcome. The Yurt at Wai Rua, west of Whangarei, is approximately 20 minutes drive from Kamo via Pipiwai Road. It is set in a beautiful tranquil farmland area beside a small lake, which is surrounded by native trees. Watch the native birds, ducks and pukekos whilst sitting on the deck. It has amazing rural views, including massive volcanic rocks. The yurt has a separate kitchen, with a small fridge and gas oven and 2hob burners. The bathroom has a hot water shower and composting toilet.

Malcolm (retired Architect/builder) and Penny (retired dance teacher) started building this house in 2014. Built to provide comfortable shelter, whatever the weather, with sweeping views of the Bay of Islands. Peace and tranquility yet 1.5 kms from the centre of Russell and 2.5kms from the beautiful Long Beach. We look forward to sharing it with you and telling you about all our favourite places, walks and things to do in the area.

FishMore Cottage

This spacious, self standing and self contained one bedroom cottage is very privately located within our organic citrus orchard just 5km outside of Kerikeri town. It's double glazing, full insulation, mosquito screens and heat pump/aircon give it the perfect setting to relax or to explore the Bay of Islands. Our pool, friendly farm animals and luscious gardens and orchard make it a perfect place for children and adults alike.
