Ample parking ,2 min walk to Smith River,10 min drive to hiking trails & Redwood national Parks. 20 min drive to beach. Horseback riding nearby for both forest & beach rides (requires Res)

This home features a large family room perfect for relaxing after a long day of surfing the Pacific Ocean. Bring your kayaks, or binoculars; Lake Earl awaits you at the end of the road, perfect for birdwatching or spending time outdoors.

Smith River - Riverfront Retreat

Located on the beautiful Smith River*. Fully furnished. 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom. Spacious living room with large windows providing beautiful views of the the river. Refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, blender, toaster, ironing board/iron, washer and dryer. Wifi, Roku with streaming channels (bring your login info for Hulu, Amazon, Netflix, etc). * river is not accessible from the home however there is access about 1 mile down the road. Please do not try to access river from our property.

Just outside your door you will find a manicured 3-acre blissful escape from the hustle of life. Explore old growth redwood stumps, watch birds and pollinators work in the sun, and close your eyes to absorb the sound of the waterfall at the pond. Pick fresh berries or fruit when it is in season, and enjoy soaking up the peace.

Smith River Retreat

Drive down the 300-foot driveway and enter a world of peace and tranquility. This newly and completely remodeled 4 bedroom, 2 bath home sits on approximately 2 gorgeous acres. 5 minutes away from Jed Smith National Park which contains some of the most majestic Redwoods of all which is also a good place to access the river. Hike down Walker Rd. which takes you through a dense forest, then down alongside the river. A place that deserves a spot high on any bucket list.

Red Barn 5 mins to the River, Ocean & Redwoods!

You won’t forget the peaceful surroundings of this rustic destination. Located 3 miles from the pristine Smith River, Redwood National Park and the beach. Everything is there you might need during your stay. The barn is tastefully fully furnished with a well equipped kitchen in a country setting with outdoor seating, fire pit, hammocks and a gas grill for a relaxing getaway enjoying the outdoors. Beach chairs and beach towels are provided for your enjoyment.

Gayle's Garden Cottage

A tiny house cottage set in a garden amongst the redwoods, surrounded by rhodies, maples, birch and apple trees. Beautiful in all seasons. The cottage is foam insulated and thus very quiet for a good night's sleep. I use fragrance free detergent on linens. The queen bed (3 layers of high density memory foam mattresses) is in a loft, accessible by an angled loft ladder with handhold cutouts (not suitable for infants or children). Nema 14-50 plug available.

This cozy little getaway is perfectly comfortable for your next visit to the redwoods or to check out the ocean. The Wildflower Hideaway is a retreat that’s tucked away from the stressors of your day-to-day. You’ll relax, unwind, and enjoy this space that’s all your own. Peacock River Bar is a short walk, bike, or car ride away. Enjoy the warm, sunny Hiouchi area on your vacation!

It's location provides the convenience of easy access to the 101 Hwy allowing for the opportunity to explore neighboring towns (Brookings, Crescent City, and Hiouchi) which are all within a short 15 minutes drive. Local attractions such as the beach, river, and redwoods are also within a few minutes drive, as is the Lucky 7 Casino.
