Fries is adjacent to the New River and New River Trail. The river and trail are a few blocks from the cottage- within walking distance. The river is a popular place for tubing, kayaking, and fishing! The New River Trail has 57 miles of great hiking and biking. The outdoor hot tub awaits when you return from a day of outdoor fun!

Beautiful 1900 family farmhouse with lots of breathing room! This amazing no pet fee dog friendly piece of heaven is 14 secluded acres on the eastern edge of our farm, founded in 1760. Beautiful meadows, forest, springs, creek and pond. Pet friendly. We love doggy visitors! Hike all over the farm, nearly 200 acres, and surrounding area. Enjoy the fire pit. Have a really large group? Add Sunrise Cottage and Meadows, also on the farm. Or Middleside Farmhouse, likewise on the farm.

If hiking and biking are your thing, this is the place to stay, as we are 3 miles from the Appalachian Trail, and a 30 min. drive to Grayson Highlands state park. Downtown Damascus is a 25 min. drive, and Abingdon is 40 minutes. Both towns have cute shops, restaurants, coffee, parks, and antique stores. Bristol is located approx. 50 min. from our home, and Boone, NC about an hour.
