Minutes from Sardinera Beach, Puerta al Mar is built around its balcony and black-tiled pool. Inside, a fully-equipped workspace makes it work for a getaway or a working stay. Water and power: a 1,000-gallon cistern and a commercial diesel generator with a 150-gallon tank. Current rationing affects San Juan metro — this area isn't on that schedule — but we keep our own storage regardless. Showers, kitchen and laundry run normally.
