This cottage is all about the view! Beach-side location at the base of the 199 steps - perfect for exploring the beautiful historic town of Whitby. Browse in the eclectic independent shops and sample the finest seafood in the local eateries. Walk up to the abbey, stroll along the piers and collect fossils from the beach, take a ride on the steam train to the neighbouring villages and explore the moors. Please note due to the beach side location of the cottage, there is unfortunately no parking.

199 steps, Incredible location, beautiful cottage

The Shoemakers Cottage has undoubtedly one of the best locations in Whitby right at the bottom of the 199 steps tucked in a quiet alley off the cobbled street. A small but cosy romantic cottage over 3 floors close to the harbour, the abbey and very close to Tate Hill Beach. BBQ and picnic basket set provided. Romantic victorian freestanding bath in the main bedroom. Arrival is down the busy cobbled church street. Best location. On-street parking scratch card provided in the W zone 10min walk.

The Smithy is a self contained stone built cottage situated on the edge of the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors. It was built in the 1800’s and was originally one of two blacksmiths serving the community of Goathland. The Smithy offers you a comfortable base to visit the local area. Spacious studio accommodation with a king sized bed in a recessed area, walk in shower and toilet, full kitchen facilities, wood burning stove, TV and Wi-Fi. One The Sidings is a charming cottage located in the North Yorkshire fishing town of Whitby. The property sleeps four people in a king size bedroom and another with twin beds, on the lower ground floor. There is a bathroom on this level too, and a door from the main bedroom leads out to the charming patio area, sat next to the North York Moors Railway line and with stunning views over to the Abbey. Upstairs, on ground level there is a cloakroom, fully equipped kitchen and comfortable lounge.

Hilda Cottage, bottom of Robin Hoods Bay!

Hilda Cottage is a 17th Century dwelling. The front door enters to the living area, downstairs is the equipped kitchen with large table. Upstairs is a double bedroom (WC ensuite) with sea views, and main bathroom, up the final flight of stairs is the loft bedroom (double bed & single bed) and sea views! The stairs are narrow & steep, see photos. If you're after old and quaint, Hilda is your girl, if you're after brand new, she probably isn't 💗 Parking permit for nearby car park.
