Forest & Forage House: Finnish wood-fired sauna

Forest & Forage House sits on 11 private acres on Quadra Island, surrounded by mature forest, organic gardens and a large lawn. Beyond the gardens are a traditional Finnish wood-fired sauna, cold plunge and outdoor shower. Designed by architect Rob Wood and built by J. Toelle Construction, its timber frame was made from trees felled and milled on the property. South-facing windows overlook trees and gardens, and the living room has a wood stove. Much of the 20-year-old interior remains original.

This very private cottage is clean, bright and comfortable. A wood stove and all natural wood interior with vaulted ceiling making it bright, comfortable, spacious, and inviting. The peace of the forest is rejuvenating and the outdoor bath tub for two a great joy. Beautiful hikes, kayaking, mountain biking and whale watching opportunities abound, and on rainy days, an eclectic selection of dvds. a A wonderful place to unplug for a few days. The suite has all you will need to make your stay relaxing and comfortable. Our home is within walking distance to the wharf and the down town core. For all the skier or the guest that want to ski or hike Mt Washington it is only a short 40 min.drive away. Our suite is in our primary residence.
