East Lodge

This fascinating small castle is close to the River Tummel, where you can fish for trout in season, and is full of character with a view over the river to Schiehallion mountain. Down by the riverbank there is a bonfire site where you can gather fallen branches and sit around the camp fire of an evening with family and friends. The garden is unenclosed so, being close to the river, small children should be supervised at all times. Dogs should be supervised when outside. There is a lovely walk along the river to the first hydro electric dam built in Scotland in the 1930s.

The Highland Club is a collection of 4 and 5 star serviced self catered apartments set within 20 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds on the south shore of Loch Ness, cradled by the Caledonian Canal and the River Tarff. An original building at the former Abbey, which stands in 20 acres of beautifully maintained garden grounds at the southern end of Loch Ness along the Great Glen Way. The apartment has lovely views over the Highland Club grounds towards the Caledonian Canal. Glendoe is suitable for family with many facilities for kids and for extended family holidays being adjacent to other apartments so all the family can be close to each other.

Foulis Castle, Evanton is near the ancient burgh of Dingwall. Foulis Castle is a 15 min walk away from the Storehouse Restaurant & Farm shop, which is situated on the shore/beach of the Cromarty Firth (Mon-Sat, 9-5pm). You’ll love my place because of privacy of having your own country retreat within beautifully landscaped gardens. My place is small with one bedroom that contains either x2 singles or zip&link super-king size bed. The 3rd guest is on a roll-away mattress ideal for a child.

My unusual holiday home is part of the unique Bridge House built over the River Ardle in k1881. It has recently been renovated to a warm and cosy standard! Charming original features including stone spiral stairs, traditional Scottish timber clad walls, brick and pine flooring. All mod cons including wifi & smart TV. Quiet, peaceful and rural location. Pretty views.

The flat is located on the ground floor of the castle overlooking the front lawns and the sea There is also a deep Victorian pedestal bath – perfect for soaking in after a hard day’s fishing or walking. The kitchen houses what was once the castle strong room, complete with a solid steel door.
