Design Cottage Close to Icelandic Countryside & Reykjavik

Step into one of the oldest homes in town, dating from 1884. Curated by the owners of the design studio Reykjavík Trading Co., The Garden Cottage has been completely remodeled to provide a unique feeling, with a lot of the furniture handmade or meticulously crafted and selected from their travels to California, Scandinavia & Mexico. The land behind The Garden Cottage is home to their designed greenhouse, communal garden, chickens and their most recent addition, The Shed which is their workshop / shop where you can visit for a coffee, buy pieces or see their process of making objects. Curated by the owners & designers of Reykjavík Trading Co. (an Icelandic / California homeware company) the Garden Cottage is their first project of creating a home space for guests to experience a unique & cozy feeling while visiting Iceland. The bottom floor of the 1884 built home has been completely remodeled for guests. Everything in the home has been either made by hand by R.T.Co. or selected from their collection of preferred products & appliances. Anthony Bacigalupo & Ýr Káradóttir, the owners of The Garden Cottage, live & work in the separate upper part of the historic home & their R.T.Co. workshop is located in the back of the garden for guests to visit, learn about the pieces being crafted, or just to have a cup of coffee. We wanted to create a place for guests to experience "slow living" & create a special stay. Having designed spaces for hotels, cafes, bars we decided to put our inspiration & collection into this project & build something completely one-of-a-kind in Iceland. Our registration number is HG-00003324 Our guests have the whole bottom house to themselves, with a selection of curated magazines, books & products from R.T.Co. & other designers. The home was built in 1884 & we have been remodeling & bringing back the style it once was but also bringing back the garden & farm style that was once so prominent back in the day. We believe in hospitality to the fullest which sadly doesn't exist anymore in places. Since we live on the property we can answer any questions you have or have you in for a coffee if you need help deciding your journey in Iceland. The cottage is in the oldest part of Hafnarfjörður, a small harbor town. There are great farm-to-table restaurants, bakeries, live music, artist studios and swimming pools nearby. It’s conveniently located across the road from the town’s bus terminal. The house has three stories but is broken into two flats- we live on the upper floors with our children with separate driveway and front door- but we are here for anything you need or to have a coffee in the greenhouse! Our little town can be easily walked around & explored. Shuttle stops for airport & Blue Lagoon are 3 minutes walk next to the ocean & the bus terminal into Reykjavík is close as well.

Grásteinn - 2- Enjoy life in the countryside.

Grásteinn is one of three cabins that we own. Nónsteinn, Grásteinn and Grýlusteinn. Our cabins are a perfect getaway place to enjoy the nature at it fullest while relaxing with a breathtaking view. Perfect for newly weds, couples or friends. Kirkjufell - Kirkjufellsfoss - Snæfellsjökull - Water cave - lava fields - black beaches - bird life - whale watching - Mountain view - northern lights - sunset , wonderful restaurants and so much more that you can experience here or near by.

Gunnu Hús by Meðalfellsvatn ( Our lakeside cottage nestles at the foot of Medalfell mountain and the garden leads right down to the lake. The views are spectacular, of the lake and its surrounding mountain scape; it is a place of pure tranquility. It has 3 bedrooms and an open plan kitchen and sitting room. It has a large double bedroom, and small double bedroom and a room with a bunk bed. It is well known and often listed as one of the most scenic and lovely summer cottages in Iceland.

Austurey - Lakefront Villa

The property is a modern 4-bedroom villa on the bank of lake Apavatn & river Hólaá. Kayaks, fishing poles & permits included for guests. (Fishing is only permitted during summer). The house is 184 m2, with a fully equipped kitchen, a terrace with a hot tub & a seating area facing the lake. It includes free WiFI, smartTV´s, sauna, washing machine & dryer. It is perfectly situated in the Golden Circle. It is 10 km from the town Laugarvatn where there are restaurants & Fontana Spa.

Approximately 50 kilometres outside of Reykjavik, more precisely, in Hvalfjordur is a little cottage located right by the ocean shore. On the ground floor is a joint kitchen/living room includes a microwave and a dishwasher. The kitchen view is the sea itself. Toilet with a shower On the second floor has a bedroom loft with 2 queen size beds and one single person’s bed.

Cosy and spacious apartment located in a private and quiet area in Hvammstangi. Only a 15 minute walk to the centre where you can find the supermarket, restaurant and liquor store. Private patio with a nice view over the country side. The apartment is equipped with a smart tv, Chromecast for easy access to Netflix, Nespresso machine with complimentary coffee, washer, dryer, dishwasher among most common kitchen appliances.

This fresh, airy nest tucked away in a peaceful part of the city boasts breathtaking views from a majestic cliff in the backyard of picturesque mountains and changing colors of the sea. Reynir cottage, Reynisfjara, black beach

A cozy two bedroom cottage located on the farm Reynir on Reynishverfisvegur 215, 7km away from the town Vík. From the terrace you'll enjoy a nice view over the black sand beach, Dyrhólaey peninsula and Mýrdalsjökull in all of its glory. The house suits perfectly for a family of 4-5 people.

Black Beach Aurora Dome

Experience unparalleled luxury and comfort at a black sand beach with beautiful views all around. There is a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom in our shared service house on the property, about 200m from the dome, as well as toilet cabins in a short walking distance from the dome.

Our apartment is in the most popular neighborhood of Reykjavík, Vesturbær. A walk to downtown area is just 15-20 min and a wonderful walking path on the shoreline starts here. Also: a swimming-pool, coffee-house, restaurants, bakery, gourmet food-stores and friendly neighbors!

Cottage hosted by the southest farm in Iceland with a buitiful view to Reynisfjara, Dyrhólaey and claciers. Just five minutes walk to the beach where you find basalt columns and caves. The village Vík is in 10 minutes drive from the cottage.
