The Depot B & B: A Peaceful Retreat

Just minutes from campus, downtown, and the airport, The Depot is a historic home attached to 5 wooded acres, a lake, and a "big sky" view across the prairie for watching sunsets and night skies. Originally a train depot constructed in 1857, it has been fully modernized for contemporary living. However, we have taken great effort to preserve its rustic charms that Abraham Lincoln would have known during his circuit riding days before the Civil War. These include graffiti from 1917.

Our 3 bedroom home has been updated and set up for real life. The living room is spacious & bright, with blackout curtains for privacy. The two larger bedrooms also have blackout curtains. The bathroom has been completely remodeled (the bathtub is original). A dishwasher, washer & dryer are available. Soap pods are provided. There’s a fully fenced backyard for kids & dogs to play. The kitchen offers a stocked coffee bar. The covered front porch is perfect for that morning cup of coffee.

Hello friends! My name is Heather. I have a golden doodle , Piper, hence the name of this abode here:). It’s been a dream of mine for years as I love people & love to pamper them. (Piper loves people just as much as myself..☺️) My 2-story home is built right around 1900 . They will have the entire upstairs. The bedroom consists of 1 queen bed, full bathroom, walk in closet. There is a sitting room with a futon, and coffee bar which is equipped with a fridge, microwave, & kuerig.
