Footbridge Farm Cabin

Footbridge Farm is a quiet country get-away located on 90 wooded acres, 15 miles NE of Decorah. We are close to the mouth of Canoe Creek, the Upper Iowa River and adjacent to state DNR land. The cozy owner-built cabin has an open ceiling with exposed beams and rafters giving a sense of spaciousness. Local stone was used in the exterior walls and the floor-to-ceiling fire back behind the wood-burning stove. The floors are oak and slate. Detailed craftsmanship can be found throughout the cabin.

Nature’s Nest

Unwind and immerse yourself in nature at this cozy cabin overlooking Timber Coulee Creek. Large living room windows and a spacious deck provide you with a bird’s eye view of the rippling river and many types of wild life. Deer amble through the property; eagles soar and keep an eagle eye on everything. Turkeys, squirrels, coons, and myriad of birds go about their business in this serene environment. Trout fishing is an excellent pastime for those who care to cast a line. Rest, at Nature’s Nest.

Historic Wykoff Jail Haus

Come explore the Historic Wykoff Jail Haus. The Jail Haus was built the late 1800’s and is owned by the city of Wykoff. Bike trails, trout fishing, Forestville State park, and cave exploration. There is kayaking and tubing 10 minutes away. Open over the winter months for snowmobiling, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, hunting and other winter activities. Playgrounds, restaurants, convenience / gas station all within walking distance. Located 40 miles south of Rochester in a town of 450 people.

Peaceful retreat down gravel driveway 15 min from Mayo Clinic. Enjoy your own apartment with private backyard walkout entrance to the lower level of our home. You will have a bedroom, living area, kitchenette with mini fridge, microwave and toaster oven (no conventional stove/oven), bathroom w/ tub & shower, pingpong table, laundry, and patio with fire ring. This private cottage sits on a 43 acre property, has a King sz. bed, fireplace, kitchenette, large deck, fire pit and more! Enjoy the onsite wooded hiking trails, golf across the highway at Ferndale Golf Club, enjoy the SE Mn. biking trail or tube/canoe/kayak the Root River- both only 2 miles away. Snowmobilers-jump right on the trail from the property!

Natural deep woods within a gully between fields, you’ll find this spot a wonderful sanctuary for wildlife. Follow the few scattered deer trails on the property and explore this natural place.

Hill Street House is the quintessential river-town residence, located within walking distance of Fountain City's quaint downtown, legendary pubs, and riverfront, but just far enough from the highway and trains to still get a good night's sleep. Perched snuggly on the bluffside overlooking the Mississippi River, you'll see an ever-changing panorama of river boats, barges, and birds in flight against a backdrop of Minnesota bluffs in the distance and a jumble of rooftops below.

In short, it's a Scandinavian way of living that focuses on hunkering down and creating a safe, comforting and warm place to while away. My husband and I hand built the Hygge House with your comfort in mind. We love being cozy and having space to spend together so when the opportunity arose to renovate our studio, we wanted to share it!
