Footbridge Farm Cabin

Footbridge Farm is a quiet country get-away located on 90 wooded acres, 15 miles NE of Decorah. We are close to the mouth of Canoe Creek, the Upper Iowa River and adjacent to state DNR land. The cozy owner-built cabin has an open ceiling with exposed beams and rafters giving a sense of spaciousness. Local stone was used in the exterior walls and the floor-to-ceiling fire back behind the wood-burning stove. The floors are oak and slate. Detailed craftsmanship can be found throughout the cabin.

Driftless Region Cabin/ Stream and Sauna

Settle into a quaint farmhouse nestled in a valley in the rolling, forested hills of the Driftless Region. Start your day with a cup of local coffee on the front porch. Go on a long walk or bike ride, then return to the cottage to cook, play board games, listen the record collection or visit Viroqua (25 minutes) for a farm-to-table 5-star dinner, or check out local music. Build a warm fire outdoors/ warm up by the gas stove indoors, or go down to the stream for a sauna by the cool water creek.

Tranquility & Vistas on the Farm in the Guest Barn

When you arrive at our 16 acre farmstead and enter the Guest Barn, you'll notice the construction materials which were salvaged from a nearby barn and corncrib. The timbers from these buildings were torn down, moved to our farm and rebuilt into a smaller “new” barn. It truly represents a real farm experience you can feel. While here, you'll slow down and enjoy the tranquility. Walk around the farm, make friends with a cow, watch barn kitties play, while gazing across the vast farm vistas.

CR Station Train Caboose

Enjoy the restoration of our charming and cozy caboose! Complete with all the amenities you'll need and more! Linens and towels, refrigerator, microwave, a double burner hot plate, dishes for cooking, barware for cocktailing, and even the original conductor's chairs to watch the sunset over the horse pasture. Sittin Pretty Tiny House is perched up on Dach Ridge six miles out of Viroqua just off County NN offering lovely views across neighboring farm fields toward the western horizon. Surrounding woods with a walking trail give an intimate sense of the natural world. You are in the heart of Amish country and the goings and comings of their agrarian lives give a sense of another time. 1/4 mile walk down the road, at the nearest Amish neighbor, you can buy produce in season and eggs.

The Stone Home on N 2nd Street is a historic limestone building. We are 1/2 block from the Mississippi River with views of both the river and BlackHawk bridge. Across the street is the local ice cream shop. We are 1 block from main street and easy walking to restaurants/bars and shops. This is the upper level unit. There is a main level unit below this one. Stairs are required to gain access to this unit.
